I grew up in the London area and studied dentistry at Guy’s Hospital. I now live in the Taunton area with my husband Andy, and three children Rosie, Ben and James. I enjoy sport and cycle into work, manage a couple of runs a week and do some gym sessions.
I started my postgraduate training in 1996 in Norwich and King’s Lynn and undertook an MSc at Guy’s Hospital. I then went on to complete my Consultant training in Bristol and Bath in 2002. I was appointed as a Consultant in Epping and the Royal London Hospital in 2003 and then subsequently moved to Taunton in 2006 to take up a Consultant post at Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital treating NHS patients who require surgery to their jaws, patients with congenitally missing teeth and those that require surgery to their teeth. I left this post in April of 2021 to dedicate my time to Confident Orthodontics.
In 2013 Confident Orthodontics was set up to provide a high quality private orthodontic clinic. This has been an extremely exciting experience for me, and I feel that I have been able to develop my aesthetic skills within this organisation.
I thoroughly enjoy seeing the changes that happen to my patients as they progress through treatment. They initially start their treatment dissatisfied with their smiles and don’t even want to smile for our initial photos and as the changes start to happen and they see their smiles change, their self-confidence increases. By the time we complete treatment, they want to smile at everyone and every shop window.
Orthodontics is a great specialty to work in. I particularly enjoy working with the Invisalign and Incognito systems, which are highly aesthetic systems and because of this are extremely popular with adult patients who are particularly concerned about the aesthetics of appliances during treatment.
