The Orthodontist
Maria is a Specialist and Consultant Orthodontist. She works as a Consultant Orthodontist in South Manchester and in a Specialist practice in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
Maria studied dentistry at the University of London and completed her Bachelor in Dental Surgery in 1995. She completed her Specialist and Consultant training in Birmingham winning National and European awards along the way.
Maria has won the prestigious Aesthetic Dentistry award for the best interdisciplinary orthodontic surgical case on 3 occasions in 2014, 2015 and 2018.
In 2006 Maria was awarded the prize for the best paper in a European Journal from the Federation of European Orthodontists.
Maria and the team enjoy treating children and adults and are fully committed to providing the best possible treatment options and standard of care for each individual patient. These include aesthetic braces such as Invisalign and lingual appliances such as Incognito in addition to the more conventional ceramic and metal brackets.
Maria's other clinical interests include Orthognathic surgery (surgery to correct jaw discrepancies) and the use of temporary anchorage devices (miniscrews).
Maria is actively involved in research and teaching. Maria lectures and trains orthodontists to become Specialists and Consultants.
Maria is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and the British Lingual Orthodontic Society. Maria is currently the treasurer for the Research Strategy Group at the British Orthodontic Society.
When Maria is not working she likes to spend time with her family of 3 children. Maria also enjoys trying to keep fit and has recently qualified as a Lacrosse Umpire.
